Subj: The Alps in June?

I will be travelling with friends from the 5th to the 10th of june
between Salzburg and Zurich. We would like to drive through the Austrian
Tirol and the Swiss canton of Grisons (Graubunden).
We would like to hike around Innbruck and the upper Engadin (Pontresina,
St-Moritz), but we have no idea of the state (codition) of the trails
between 1500 and 2000 meters at that time of the year (Snow?, Mud?,
Weather?). The only thing a travel agent can tell us is that the high
season only begins at the very end of june in these area. Should we
forget about hiking in the Alps and visit southern Germany (for instance)
at that time of the year? Any comments...?
