hi, i too am curious about the status of this list - i subscribed in early
december, and have not received anything until today. at least we know the
framework is still alive and well.

i'm not a "mountaineer", but as a former resident of new england, montana, and
alaska, i've certainly done my fair share of hiking in the mountains. now that
i'm temporarily living in FLAT louisiana, i'd love to hear discussions of
mountain-type activities.

as far as mr. potts' great state of arizona - my experiences there involve hikin
g
up the relatively insignificant 'A' Mountain in Tucson, and hiking down and up
the Grand Canyon back in March '86. Anyone know if that Turkey is still
around at the campground at the bottom, raising cain with everybody's
equipment?!
